I made a weird sound with my voice, stretched it out in every direction, and looped it to make a cool noise that could be used as the ambient music for a part of a game where there are either giant robots roaming around, or are scary-as-hell creatures.

This is one of my first experiments in audacity making a sound like this! i wanted to make a drone with my voice as a calming atmospheric background, but it turned out a bit creepy. I hope it can be of use to someone here!i'd love to see how you use it, but i don't require credit. Thanks!.

I have no idea what this was. I don't know if it's my voice or an external sound i didn't hear while recording. It was found randomly on my most recent recording of playing containment breach, and it was very quiet, so i increased the volume to try and figure out what it was, but it's still a mystery to me. Sooooooooooooo. . . . Here ya go!.

The last breath of a creature, maybe a dragon, whatever floats your boat. I'm a game developer, but i also like creating sfx, and other cool stuff. So i was feeling like creating a small mmo for fun, but thought to myself;how on earth am i going to make all those sounds?so i searched a bit on the net for possible cool sfx techniques, and later on decided to just experiment with audacity myself. For this sound i recorded my own voice two times (i can make some weird sounds),and edited them in audacity. The result came out as some kind of dragon, and i was pretty pleased with it being my first organic voice. Use for whatever you like, a credit and a rate would be appreciated.

My first little attempt at making some film-like sound effects. Alot of bass in this one, tried to cut it below 30-50hz. I just want to point out to the people having a listen, that the sample that streams on the website has a small static-like noise in it. . The download version will not have this noise, i believe the compression for streaming degraded the sound a bit.

This is a recording of myself sleeping, beginning ~ 1:00 am local time (~ 3hrs after going to bed) on january 10th, 2020 (which i later discovered was a full moon). I was in the midst of experimenting with recording myself all night long out of curiosity, using a laptop placed near the head of my bed. This particular recording was the only anomalous one (the rest consisting mostly of just breathing or snoring with occasional sleep-talking). This ~2 hour recording has several interesting properties, which make it hard for me to believe that these sounds were actually going on while i was sleeping. On the other hand, i don't have a memory of editing this file if i did. Either way, i find it unsettling. I found the file in oct 2021 while organizing my samples. As far as i can remember, this is the original raw recording. On further inspection, i discovered that it has some additional peculiar properties that make it even harder to believe i could have made it without remembering doing so. The audio spans almost exactly 118min (7080s). There’s a frequency sweep with a cycle-length of 6480ms that repeats throughout the entire recording. Dividing the 118min by 6. 48min (60 cycles) results in 18 parts containing exactly 60 cycles and a remainder of 12 cycles. So four speaking are on the « original sens » and four on the contrary. On a another track, i take another short recording of a men voice and copy this once. I add this new track to the middle of the first once. To finish i chang the pitch of all the track with a percent of change of -24. Description :this sound look like an old wood hand saw. We clearly distinguish the saw movement. Going on and going back. Add a different recoording on the middle allows the sound to be realistic. Because the hand saw sound is not regular. I took the raw recording and used goldwave's mechanize effect to translate my voice to a center frequency of 14khz. I then demodulated it first at 10. 6 and then 10. 2khz meaning that what comes out is essentially the opposite sideband, offset by 3. 4 and 3. 8khz respectively. 3khz just didn't sound as good. The first i filtered with a low pass of 2. 9khz, the second was filtered to below 3. 4khz to emulate a communications receiver passband. I am speaking upside down as described in this video. Quite simply a recording of me screaming in a humorous way (if you're looking for a scream sound effect for a project with a serious tone, i doubt this one will be suitable). Even though i'm a woman, i have a feeling this sound could be used for a male character too, probably one with a voice that's not too deep. I recorded this by mistake when i was just 14! me and my sister had just been recording something on my mp3 player, then when we'd finished, i accidentally pressed record again. I don't know why, but i responded by doing a silly scream before pressing the button to stop recording! weird reaction, i know. I was probably just trying to make her laugh. I kept the very short recording ever since and in more recent years, i showed it to a friend who found it absolutely hilarious! i realised this was a such a gem of a scream that i simply had to upload it as my first ever contribution to this wonderful site i've been using for years!. I've edited out one second of silence that preceded the scream in the original version of the file. What i hear in this sound is a crashing starship as you regain consciousness surrounded by chaos of the crew and emergency systems.
